I have much love for a solid lowbrow pizza. The kind with thin, chewy dough topped with sweet, oregano-y sauce and slightly greasy mozz. The kind where an honest, no-frills 14" or 18" cheese pie will cost you the same as a slice of that highbrow, "artisan" stuff. Not that this is meant as some attack on the upper echelons of pizzadom; there's a time and a place for each, but when you're still on a student budget, the former figures far more frequently in your life. I've eaten a lot of cheap pizza in my time as a grad student out here - it's like an unspoken part of the degree requirement to consume this stuff on the regular. Garrett Hill's is my favorite so far -- just a simple, no BS pizza with a good balance of toppings. The crust doesn't remind me of cardboard. The cheese is the right amount of greasy: not so much that it congeals into a measureable glob (I like to remain in some denial about the amount of fat and grease taking up residence in my arteries) or, on the opposite and possibly worse side, slides off into a sad pile, taking the sauce with it, as soon as you pick up a slice. Total bummers, and I've seen them all too frequently. But not from Garrett Hill. Thumbs up to the service here too, and special accolades for my experience tonight. I called to inquire about my order, which was about 40 minutes late at that point. The owner was very nice and apologized, explaining they'd gotten an influx of orders around the same time and were very backed up on the delivery front. He said that didn't excuse the lateness, though, and comped the $20 meal and gave me an additional $20 credit. $40 in free pizza? Not bad. And I wasn't even looking for free stuff. TL;DR: Garrett Hill makes solid, tasty, no-frills pizza and genuinely cares about customer satisfaction. Give them a try.

This is the first pizza place we tried when we moved here 8 months ago - just got around to writing this review... I chose this establishment because it had good yelp reviews. The first thing I noticed was that there's a pizza place right next door - as a former business owner in the food industry I thought oh boy this has got to be great pizza because these owners have their competitors right next door. I had called in the order for a chicken pizza and a plain cheese pizza. It was a Sunday. I remember because the husband was watching football and that's why I opted to run out and pick up the food. Anyway...I walked up to the counter and two guys and a girl were there. I said hi and said I had called in an order - told them what it was and they looked as bored and disinterested as could be. The boxes kinda got slapped down on the counter. I paid. I said thank you. And I left. Now this is my thinking...there were no other customers there ... Three people were obviously not busy because they were just standing around ...and no one could manage an "enjoy" or "thank you" or "hi"??? Come on people! Lack of basic customer service is a pet peeve of mine. People work hard for their money and with the amount of pizzerias in the area can you afford to act annoyed that a paying customer walked in? Ok so I get the pies home and I live five minutes from there - the pies were not hot. Another strike. The sauce was flavorless. I'm giving two stars only because my husband liked his chicken pizza - which was bland - which is exactly how he likes his food.

I have been going to this place for years and this is one of my favorite pizza around. The crust is great sauce and cheese always great and I can easily eat half a pie or more! They also have a small selection of beer with a FEW craft beers. Service is usually great and quick. We also had tried the wings here for the first time. We have been searching for good wings and these were amazing. Well done and crispy! I prefer wings not breaded and these were not breaded.

Why did I never eat here back in college? The whizzer cheesesteak I ate a few days ago was absolute perfection. Everyone in my party was pleased with their cheesesteak choices. The place is simple but clean and pretty. The service is great! The menu is big, and the choices are delicious. I really couldn't ask for more for a lunchtime road trip stop. I only wish I had eaten here years ago and not denied myself the pleasure! Yes, this place is literally surrounded by similar restaurants next door and across the street. But choose this one. Seriously. You won't regret it!

Well this place SUCKS. From the rude staff to the sub-par food, I will never order from here again. I ordered 4 simple sandwiches and fries, but waited 2 hours for the order to be delivered. The order finally arrived and it was incorrect. The fries were soggy and gross. I could not lower my expectations. Thanks for nothing Garret Hill. Brutal experience and wish I could give it 0/5 stars.

This has been our family's go-to pizza place for 20 years, but after our experiences in the past 2 months we will not be returning. The quality of the food and service have both rapidly declined. The cheesesteaks are now tasteless and greasy, the fries repeatedly burnt. Tonight we decided to try again for pizza since that had remained tasty, but our order was ice cold, to the point we wondered if they had an extra pizza sitting around and just put our toppings on. And it's not even cheap anymore --$23 for a pizza with mushrooms and an order of mozzarella sticks. What's worse, when we told them about the issues in the store, there were no apologies or explanations.

I love this place! They have desserts, pizza, and beer, what else would you need? I have been going here for over 20 years and it is the best pizza ever!! I don't live nearby Garrett Hill Pizza anymore, but whenever I'm in the area, I have to stop by.

My roommates and I ordered a pizza that was supposed to be half chicken bacon ranch and half steak. There was no ranch in the CBR, and instead there was red sauce. Both halves of the pizza tasted the same- like nothing. Will not be eating from here again.

This is the first pizza place I checked out when I moved into the area. After trying a few others around Bryn Mawr, this continues to be my go to pizza shop when I have company over. The pizza is good. The beer battered fries are always a must when I order. The price is reasonable. All together, pretty good.

Came here with my son who goes to college nearby. Ordered a calzone and a cheesesteak. Place is located in an area known as Rosemont, convenient to Villanova. Place had an a slightly aged look, but was clean. People working behind the counter were friendly. The day I went, Sunday, there were numerous older men milling about and pregame football shows were on. There's two rooms to sit in, you have a choice of tables or booths. Everything looked clean. Didn't have a chance to check the restrooms. Calzone and cheesesteak were enormous and good.

I have eaten (mostly take out) from GHP for about 3 years now and can tell you the family likes the pizza and salads. I've eaten their steak sandwiches and at first, they were pretty good. Lately, they tasting a little too greasy and a little more chewy with some small gristle in it. Don't know if they changed meat suppliers. I get my steak sandwiches from Zesto Pizza next door. Still get pizza and salad from GHP and will continue to do so. Next door has good pizza too, not better, just different, so when we are in the mood for GHP, we go here, when in the mood for a different taste, will try a different place. I always found GHP to be clean and accomodating. They can count on continued business from my family.

Some of these reviews amused me. If you're gonna go to a pizza place and order a salmon wrap or expect decent chicken wings, I really don't care what your opinion is on anything food related as you're most likely a Sysco drone living in an alternate reality. GHP makes the best pies in the area. You can get similar pies in the Norristown area (Via Venuto) or in Roxborough(Mister P's) , but they're rarely 18" and they're never as cheap as GHP. GHP's other foods are OKAY but nothing to write home about. I'd go somewhere else for a cheesesteak. Consistency in pizza is of utmost importance but in 30 years, I've only gotten one BAD pie from them. Depending on who's throwing the dough, the thickness does vary slightly but it hasn't been too much of a problem. When they get busy, they will sometimes loose track of the cooking times and under or over cook pies but again, not enough to put me off. When they changed hands a few years ago, nothing really changed with the pizza. It's unfortunate that some of the reviewers on here have had bad experiences and I hope GHP takes note of it. A large Italian-American style thin-crust deck oven baked pepperoni pizza, however simple it may be to make, is something 90% of pizza places manage to mess up. GHP does it right and they've been doing it for friggin' decades.

The Death of a Great Pizza Joint? Extremely Disappointing... These are the only words that aptly describe my recent experiences at this once notable pizzeria. Traditionally know for its friendly staff and outstanding food, this institution of the Main Line seems to have forgotten what made it great! Over the last few months I have encountered a number of basic customer service issues: Unacceptable hold times when attempting to place an order, curt personnel and most recently, disappointing product. This evening I ordered a large cheese pizza. Excited at the prospect of sharing a few slices with some friends over an evening of football, I promptly headed home. Unfortunately, when I settled in to watch the game I noticed that the pie was lukewarm and appeared to be dry like it had been reheated. After a few unsatisfying bites, my initial fears were confirmed. Annoyed and disappointed, I briefly considered returning the pie and demanding remediation. After some reflection, however, I decided this brief commentary would be the most effective way to spur change. As a long time resident of the community and an individual who prefers to support independent local businesses, I am sure I will be a patron of Garrett Hill Pizza (GHP) again one day. In the interim, however, I think I will support one of the many other pizzerias in the area (i.e. Conestoga Pizza, Pizzarella Grille, Peace-A-Pizza, etc.) that still take pride in their product and value their customers.

If there was just one word to describe Garrett Hill, it would be unreliable. I've tasted their signature "upside down" pizza at its very best--a soft, thin, round crust with flavorful sauce over mozzarella cheese--baked to perfection. I've also experienced it when the dough was so hard it could have been mistaken for a piece of cardboard. When it comes to their salmon wrap, you never know what you're going to get as well: moist, tender pieces of salmon, or dry, wooden blocks. If you enjoy the unpredictability of a game of Roulette, then odds are, this place is for you...and your closest gambler friends. Good luck.

When you're in the mood for some greasy, finger food, Garrett Hill is the place to go! I love their thin crust pizzas and chicken wings. It is so delicious!!! Everything else is mediocre though. Best pizza in the area, hands down! After moving to Ardmore, my husband and I looked for 4 months for decent pizza in the area, and tried at least 8 places before settling on GHP as our favorite. We've only had the plain pizza, but it is awesome: chewy crust, slightly crispy bottom, good amount of delicous sauce, perfect amount of cheese. Prices are also very reasonable. I always drool over all the specialty pizzas when we go in to pick up our plain pie, but so far I haven't tried one because I'm still hung up on how delicious the plain is!

While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
